Women’s Domestic and
Family Violence Shelter

Our women’s shelter is available for women and their children experiencing or at immediate risk of experiencing domestic and family violence to have a safe place and bed to go to TONIGHT.

Our team is on call 24/7 to offer advice and welcome you into the safety of the shelter, where you will have food, access to appliances, a place to rest, time, and support to work through your options on your terms.

Between 7 pm and 7 am, please call 000. We work closely with QPS, and they can bring you safely to the shelter where one of our team will meet you.

What to expect

The shelter is fully equipped with everything your family needs for a short-term stay, and our staff work to meet your needs while prioritising your safety.

The Shelter is fully self-sufficient, and there is no on-site staff member, although one is available via phone 24/7.

The shelter has limited capacity and is only available to those experiencing or at risk of experiencing domestic and family violence.

We are unable to accept Individuals who are involved in community violence, are intoxicated, unhoused for other reasons, or who need specialist support to live independently.

Advice and information services
Our team is also available through the community centre at any time or out in the community as part of raising awareness. They are skilled at working with you to understand risk, the options available, and to develop appropriate safety planning so you know what to do in a crisis.
