Weipa, Napranum and Mapoon
About Us
Supporting the Community
for over 40 Years
Acknowledgement of Country
Our community organisation is proud to work with and serve the people of Weipa, Napranum, and Mapoon. We acknowledge that our work is done on the traditional lands of the Alngith, Thaynakwith, Tjungundji, and other language groups of the Western Cape. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and we honour the ongoing strength, resilience, and cultural contributions of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our community.
Our vision
Every member of our community has the opportunity to thrive
Our mission
We work alongside our communities to offer empowering services, nurture lasting connections, and respond as our neighbourhood evolves.
Our Theory of Change
We work in Weipa, Napranum and Mapoon to ensure community members have the opportunity to thrive by offering empowering services, nurturing lasting connections and responding as our neighbourhood evolves, because remote areas have fewer opportunities to access services, advocate for change and respond to issues such as domestic and family violence, isolation, alcohol and drug use and income inequality.
